Double Standard is an instrumental jazz duo featuring Anna Martin-Scrase on cello and Dean Gray on guitar.

With decades of musical experience between them, they create a beautiful, romantic style of music, performing vintage jazz and pop songs from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. The wonderful combination of cello and guitar brings an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere to any venue they perform in.

Double Standard is equally at home performing at weddings, functions, corporate events, restaurants, private parties and even street performances. Anna and Dean bring the same enthusiasm and love for their music to all venues.

Dean Gray is a professional guitarist with over 27 years' performing experience. He originally studied classical and Spanish guitar and has explored a variety of musical styles including jazz, rock, Hawaiian, bluegrass, celtic mandolin, pedal steel guitar and experimental music. He has studied jazz guitar with Steve Brien from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and is continuing his never-ending musical studies with classical guitarist Murillo Tanouye. Dean is currently performing solo, as part of Double Standard, and in the 15 piece jazz band the Narrabeen Swingers, as well as teaching private guitar students at his home.

Anna Martin-Scrase moved to Australia in 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Cello Performance in Salzburg, Austria. In Sydney she co-founded the Acacia Quartet, which has become well known and highly regarded for its performances and recordings of contemporary Australian composers. Anna also teaches cello and has a studio at her home. Chief among Anna's many interests is performing beautiful songs on her instrument, and she enjoys being able to share this passion with Dean.
